What does it mean to remain yourself in a world that constantly asks us to adapt? Inspired by Salvador Dalí's autobiography "The Secret Life of Salvador Dalí", Contra Mundum explores an individual trying to fight for his own identity and freedom through a blend of dramatic, musical and performative expression. The title itself – "against the world" – refers to the fundamental conflict of the play: between the individual and society, personal freedom and imposed expectations vanya, rebellion and acceptance. But the real struggle is not only between man and the world around him. It also takes place within himself. The play raises questions about how much we are willing to risk to remain authentic. Can we live by our own rules? Where does freedom end and responsibility begin? And is rebellion always an act of opposition or sometimes simply a decision to stay true to ourselves? In a strong and suggestive performance, Ozren Grabarić builds a world in which they are constantly intertwined personally, artistically and socially. Live music, visual atmosphere and performative elements create an intense stage space that does not offer the audience unambiguous answers, but invites them to their own reflection. Contra Mundum is a show about individuality, art, freedom and the price we sometimes pay when we decide not to agree to the rules of the world around us.
