What happens when a man becomes his own greatest enemy? The monodrama Nameless, based on the novel "Notes from the Underground" by Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoyevsky, brings a portrait of a man who withdrew from the world and closed himself in his own consciousness. Intelligent, self-centered, extremely sensitive and deeply dissatisfied, the hero constantly analyzes himself and others – but is unable to take a real step towards change. His need for freedom paradoxically leads him towards increasing isolation. Refusing compromises and closeness, he becomes a prisoner of his own thoughts, egoism and feelings of alienation. Through an intimate and intense encounter with this anti-hero, the play raises questions that are still surprisingly topical today: what does it mean to be free? Can one live without others? Why do we sometimes knowingly act against our own interests? And where the liability to s begins abby and others? Nikola Ugrinović signs directing, dramaturgy and performance, creating a monodrama in which the border between the actor and the character is almost completely erased. Dostoevsky's "man from the underworld" becomes a modern man – lost, alienated and in search of meaning. Nameless is a psychologically powerful and intimate notion of loneliness, identity, freedom, and the need for human closeness.
