Through a personal and witty monodrama, author and performer Daria Lorenci Flatz explores what it means to be an actress, artist, mother, wife and public figure – and how difficult it is to reconcile all these roles. The performance created on the occasion of 25 years of artistic work by Daria Lorenzi Flatz is at the same time a personal confession and a universal story about identity, ambition, perfectionism and the need to be "good enough". Drama, burlesque, comedy and absurdity meet on stage, while the boundaries between private life and public role are constantly blurred. Starting from her own acting experience, Daria Lorenci Flatz questions the expectations we set for ourselves and imposed by society. What does it mean to be successful? How far can we go in the pursuit of perfection? And where does the professional role end and the person who carries it begin? "I, the actress!" is an intimate, energetic and auto-ironic encounter with the stage, the profession and oneself. The play turns personal experience into a distinctive story about the pressure to be the best professionals, partners, parents and “perfect” versions of ourselves at the same time. Directed by Daria Lorenci Flatz, Ana Tonković, Larisa Lipovac Navojec and Emil Flatz, the play combines acting, movement, silk dancing, music, video and visual projections into a dynamic stage collage.
