One phone call is enough to open up the whole world of one woman before us. Jean Cocteau's “The Human Voice” is an intimate and powerful monodrama about love, loss, and loneliness. At the center is a woman who talks to an ex-lover for the last time after a breakup. The handset becomes the only connection between them – an object that connects and separates at the same time. Through words, silences, interruptions and unspoken thoughts, her inner struggle is gradually revealed. She tries to maintain her dignity, hide her pain, and accept the end of the relationship that was the center of her life until yesterday. Cocteau doesn't just talk about the end of a love relationship. The “human voice” explores the universal human need for closeness, the fear of loneliness, and the difficulty of accepting change. The heroine is caught between a past she can no longer bring back and a future she is not yet ready for. Performed by Diana Vidušin, Cocteau's text gets a contemporary stage interpretation that combines acting, movement, music, sound and visual elements. The show evolves from an intimate phone conversation to a powerful visual and audible experience, exploring the boundaries between reality, memory, and the inner world. The human voice is a representation of the moment when we must let go of what we love – and find a way to hear our own voice again afterwards. Game: Dijana Vidušin Director: Jug Djordjevic
