The association of voluntary blood donors "DONATE BLOOD – SAVE LIFE" continues with the organization of voluntary blood donation actions in the area of Zadar and Zadar County. After the successful first Easter campaign held at the Croatian National Theatre in Zadar, where 40 doses of blood were collected, the Association restarted blood donation in Poličnik in May. After a few years of pause, as many as 30 doses of blood were collected in Poličnik, which showed that there is a great interest of citizens to be involved in this humanitarian activity. The next action will be held on August 13, 2026, on the occasion of the Feast of the Assumption, in the atrium of the Provider's Palace in Zadar, from 14:00 to 18:00. Here's the organiser's announcement: "All voluntary blood donors, as well as citizens who have not donated blood so far, are invited to respond to the action and help those who need blood the most with their humanitarian act. We especially invite the residents of the City of Zadar and Zadar County, as well as all citizens who are in Zadar during the summer months, to take part of their time and join the action. The afternoon slot from 2 pm to 6 pm was selected to enable the largest possible response of citizens, including those who are unable to respond to morning appointments due to work obligations. Voluntary blood donation is one of the most humane ways to help others. One decision to donate blood can mean someone a fresh start, another birthday, another hug and another chance at life. Our goal is to make voluntary blood donation actions regular and recognized in the area of Zadar and Zadar County and to involve as many citizens as possible in this noble activity. We invite all citizens to join us on the 13th august in the atrium of the Provider's Palace from 2 pm to 6 pm. Give blood! Save a life! ❤️”
