As part of the 4th Zadar Monodrama Festival, a theater criticism workshop "Who's Afraid of Criticism Yet?" is held, led by Kristina Tešija again this year. The workshop is organized by the Croatian Society of Theatre Critics and Theatrologists as part of the Critical Polygon project, in cooperation with the University of Zadar and the production of the festival. The workshop is intended for students and anyone interested in theatre, critical thinking and writing. It's free, and no previous writing experience is required. How to apply? Registration is required, and you can register by e-mail at: kristina.tesija1@gmail.com What performances will be analyzed? Participants of the workshop will watch the performances from the program 4 together. Of the Zadar Festival of Monodrama, and these performances will be the starting point for talking, analyzing and writing your own theatre reviews. During the workshop, different approaches to theatre criticism, ways of arguing and developing a personal authorial voice will be discussed, as well as the context in which the plays are created. Special attention will be paid to how the festival context, production conditions and artistic decisions affect the reading of the play. Participants will develop their texts through joint discussions and reading of various reviews, and the resulting critical texts will then be published on the web portal of the Croatian Society of Theatre Critics and Theatrologists.
