On Saturday, August 15, join the traditional pilgrimage on the eve of the Feast of the Assumption, with a special experience – the welcome of the sunrise on Sveti Vid, the highest peak of the island of Pag. An early morning hike along the marked hiking trail through the unique karst and Mediterranean landscape of Pag awaits you, all the way to the top with a magnificent view of the sea, the surrounding islands and Velebit. Departure is at 04:30 from the parking lot at the entrance to Camping Village Šimuni. Participants are asked to arrive at the starting point 10 minutes earlier. The trail is not demanding and is suitable for recreationists. Arrival at the top is planned around 06:00, just in time for the first rays of the Sun that will appear above Velebit. The Assumption has always held a special place in the tradition and life of the city of Pag, and this pilgrimage is an opportunity to start the holiday with one of the most beautiful views that the island can offer. Estimated duration: about 3.5 hours, including ascent, stay at the top, and return. We recommend that you bring: – sufficient amount of water – Headlamp or flashlight – comfortable and suitable footwear – weather-friendly clothing Leader learning is free of charge for all participants.
